10,000 YA, South America - Explored in Prehistoric Park Episode 4: Saving the Sabretooth - Nigel returns to a dryer South America to rescue the a sabre tooth tiger as it was in decline, presumably due to the lack of large prey from which they could feed. One tries to catch a deer, but is not fast enough. He also comes across a modern armadillo.
10,000 YA, Mauritius? - Explored by Primeval Episode 4 Dodo birds cross into our time, but are carrying deadly parasites that cause people to bite other people.

~11,000 YA, North America - Speculated in Jurassic Fight Club Episode 9: Ice Age Monsters - A battle between two top predators of North America, the American Lion and the bulldog-bear Arctodus, during a period of warming climate.
30,000 YA, Northern Europe - Documented in Walking with Beasts Episode 6: Mammoth Journey - The story follows the migration of a herd of Woolly Mammoths. Humans hunt great horned deer Megaloceros and keep their distance from the mammoths while following them, and one human gets eaten by a Cave Lion. They get attacked by non-migrating Neandertals, who use fire at night to drive them off a cliff. One neandertal is charged by a Woolly Rhino, but survives. Bison and wild horses can be seen grazing on the grass. A Saiga antelope (still around today) is also seen.

Ionian (Middle) Age (781 - 126 TYA)[]

150,000 YA, Siberia - Explored in Prehistoric Park Episode 2: A Mammoth Undertaking - Nigel returns to Siberia, but this time during the height of the ice age when Mammoth's were thriving. He also spots a galloping giant rhino, Elasmotherium. A Cave Hyena is also featured.

Calabrian Age (Early Pleistocene) (1.806-0.781 MYA)[]

1 MYA, South America - Explored in Prehistoric Park Episode 4: Saving the Sabretooth - Nigel travels back to South America to get a Phorusrhacos (Terror Bird), which was being out competed by Sabre Tooth Cats after they crossed over from North America. He encounters a herd of hippo-like Toxodon, which were the prey for the sabertooths.

3.2 MYA, Ethiopia - Explored in Walking with Beasts Episode 4: Next of Kin - The story follows a tribe of Australopithecus homonid relatives. They are hunted by the short-toothed sabre tooth Dinofelis. They anger some Deinotherium elephant-like "hoe-tuskers". A herd of goat-like Ancylotherium also appear.

Zanclean Age (5.332 - 3.60 MYA)[]

4 MYA, seas - Explored in Sea Monsters Episode 2 The Third Most Dangerous Sea of All Time - Nigel sets off to find the giant shark, Magalodon. A small Odobenocetops whale is able to escape the shark. He also finds a Cetotherium whale.

25 MYA, Mongolia - Documented in Walking with Beasts Episode 3: Land of Giants - The story revolves around a baby Indricotherium, the largest land mammal ever. The mother defends it against large mammalian Hyaenodon predators. It also features sloth and gorrila like horse relative Chalicotherium, the "bear-dog" Cynodictis, and the giant boar-like "bully" Entelodon.

36 MYA, Pakistan, Egypt - Documented in Walking with Beasts Episode 2: Whale Killer - The polar regions have frozen over and the world is colder. The mating patterns of an early whale the Basilosaurus are explained. On land, the Andrewsarchus is the largest predatory land mammal ever, and it feasts on turtles, and its hooves make it a "wolf in sheep's clothing". The whale is unable to catch the primate Apidium, hunts an elephant relative and hippo-like Moeritherium, and successfully catches the whale Dorudon. A herd of Embolotherium rhino-like horse relatives with "battering rams" instead of horns is seen.
36 MYA Eocene swamps of Giza - explored in Sea Monsters Episode 2 The Fourth Most Dangerous Sea of All Time - Nigel sets out to find a giant predatory whale, the Basilosaurus. He gets charged by the giant duel horned mammal, the Arsinoitherium. He finds a family of Dorudon whales, which are prey for the Basilosaurus.

Ypresian Age (55.8 - 48.6 MYA)[]

49 MYA, volcanic Germany - Documented in Walking with Beasts Episode 1: New Dawn - The world is left for giant birds (such as the Gastornis), as mammals are still small (such as the focal point of the episode, the shrew-like Leptictidium). The Gastornis hunts down a small horselike Propalaeotherium, but its eggs are swarmed by giant ants, Formicium giganteum. A band of lemur-like Godinotia are seen at night. A "walking whale" Ambulocetus is also seen ambushing prey on land and sea. It eats a relative of the carnivores, a type of Creodonta. An ant-eater like Eurotamandua is also seen.

65 MYA, Montana - Documented in Walking with Dinosaurs Episode 6: Death of a Dynasty - Dinosaurs are living under the stress of volcanism. A female Tyrannosaurus abandons her nest, made infertile by volcanism. A male eats a Triceratops. A Dromaeosaurus (which did not live at this time, it is from 75 MYA) tries to steal its eggs, as does a small marsupial Didelphodon, which is eaten. The mother kills a Anatotitan duck billed dinosaur. It is then fatally injured by an Ankylosaurus, a large armored dinosaur. The eggs are unhatched and an asteroid strikes the earth, leaving behind birds and mammals.
65 MYA, Montana - Explored in Prehistoric Park Episode 1: T. rex Returns, where Nigel enters in order to obtain a Tyrannosaurus rex. He also brings back a Triceratops and Ornithomimus for the park. Some Nyctosaurus (or pterasaurs) are also seen. The end of the episode is when the asteroid strikes the earth and wipes out the dinosaurs.
65 MYA, Global - Reenacted in Jurassic Fight Club Episode 12: Armageddon - It follows the path of the asteroid that wiped out the Earth. Many of the dinosaurs seen in the series witness the event, including T-Rex, Edmontosaurus, Nanotyrannus, Majungasaurus, Albertosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus, and Dromeosaurus (not alive at this time).
~65 MYA, Madagascar - Documented in Jurassic Fight Club Episode 1: Cannibal Dinosaur - Recreation of a battle between two Majungasauruses.
~65 MYA, North America - Documented in Jurassic Fight Club Episode 2: T-rex Hunter - The episode speculates on a battle where some Nanotyrannuses (which might actually be a juvenile T-Rex) attempt to eat some juvenile T-Rex's while their mother is hunting.
~65 MYA, Oceans - Explored in Primeval Episode 3 - A Mososaur invades a swimming pool and resurfaces in different bodies of water. A Hesperornis also kills a man.

~74 MYA, North America - Speculated in Jurassic Fight Club Episode 11: Raptors vs T-Rex - Speculation of a pack of Dromaeosaurus who kill an Edmontosaurus (which only existed after Dromaeosaurus), only to have most of it taken away by a T-Rex (which did not exist at this time).
75 MYA, Mongolia - Explored in Chased by Dinosaurs Episode 2: The Giant Claw - Nigel sets out to investigate a dinosaur with a very large set of claws, the Therizinosaurus. He runs across the nesting grounds of the Protoceratops. He finds a forest filled with Velociraptors. He finds a hungry Tarbosaurus carnivore. He notes that the Mononykus theropods do have feathers. He also finds duck billed Saurolophus and the pteradon Azhdarcho.
75 MYA, North American Interior Seaway - Explored in Sea Monsters Episode 3 The Most Dangerous Sea EverNigel goes to "Hell's Aquarium", where many dangerous predators lurk. He first finds a colony of penguin-like bird, Hesperornis. One of them dies and through the periscope, several predators arrive, including the Squalicorax shark, the giant predatory bony fish Xiphactinus, and the mosasaur Halisaurus. They send a remotely operated vehicle to explore and find a Elasmosaurus plesiosaur, which at the end of the episode are ready to attack them. They domesticate a Pteranodon. Their boat bumps into a giant turtle, the Archelon. A family of giant Tylosaurus mososaurs overturn their boat.
75 MYA, Texas - Explored in Prehistoric Park Episode 6: Supercroc - Nigel sets out to the inland shores of Texas to find the largest croc that ever lived, the Deinosuchus. He first finds several Parasaurolophus running from Albertasaurus. One later goes to get a drink at shore and is eaten by Deinosuchus. He also observes a pteradon Nyctosaurus catching fish, but is then caught by a Deinosuchus. A Troodon stows away in the jeep and arrives at the park, causing quite a disastrous chain of events.
~75 MYA - Explored in Primeval Series 2 Episode 7 - Raptors of some kind stalk a shopping mall.
~80 MYA, North America - Explored in Primeval Episode 5 - Golfers are being attacked by swarms of vicious Pterasaurs. A giant Pteranodon is captured and returned to its time.

Cenomanian Age[]

Cenomanian Age (100.5-93.9 MYA) - First age of the Late Cretaceous. Saw an explosion in diversity of flowering plants. Explored in Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia - The largest herbivore (Argentinosaurus) and the largest tyrannosaur (Giganotosaurus) existed at about the same time and the same place in South America.

100 MYA, Argentina - Explored in Chased by Dinosaurs Episode 1: Land of Giants - Nigel goes back to prehistoric Argentina to see where the giant Argentinosaurus nest every year. He is attacked by a Sarcosuchus "super-croc". He finds a herd of duck-billed Iguanodon. He also finds a group of Pteranodon hunting fish. He flies with Ornithocheirus, one of the largest flying animal. He also encounters a Giganotosaurus eating an Iguanodon.
106 MYA, Antarctica and Australia - Explored by Walking with Dinosaurs Episode 5: Spirits of the Ice Forest - The episode follows ornithopod Leaellynasaura dinosaurs attempt to survive the winter. Herds of ornithopod Muttaburrasaurus and predatory giant amphibians Koolasuchus are also seen. The carnosaur Australovenator feeds on the matriarch of the Leaelynasaura. An early egg laying mammal, the Steropodon, is also depicted.

Aptian Age (112.0–125.0 MYA)[]

Barremian Age (130.0-125.0 MYA)][]

125 MYA, Northeast China - Explored in Prehistoric Park Episode 3: Dinobirds - Nigel travels back to obtain a Microraptor (which really existed later) and other wildlife about to be threatened by a volcano. Eosipterus pterosaurs are witnessed skimming for fish. A group of Mei long dinosaurs steel their food. A bird-like herbivore Incisivosaurus woos a female after chasing off a rival male and mistaking Nigel for one. Nigel is unexpectedly able to capture a herd of Titanosaurs as they escape a volcanic eruption.
126 MYA, Utah - Reenacted by Jurassic Fight Club Episode 8: Raptor's Last Stand - A fight between a Utah Raptor and a Gastonia armored dinosaur (covered by a host of Pterasaurs) is re-enacted, both survive the battle, but end up dying in a drought.
127 MYA, Brazil, Florida, Spain - Documented in Walking with Dinosaurs Episode 4: Giant of the Skies - One of the largest pterasaurs ever, an Ornithocheirus, is found dead, and the documentary retraces its last sixth months. It starts out in Brazil, and flies by migrating Iguanodon and armored Polacanthus. It rests in North America and removes the Saurophthirus fleas. He flies across the now-narrower Atlantic to the isles of Europe and avoids a pack of Utahraptor stalking Iguanadon. It is chased out of a forest by small birds, Iberomesornis. He is late for the mating event and dies. The pterasaur Tapejara and the pleseiorid Plesiopleurodon are also mentioned.

149 MYA, Oxfordshire - Documented in Walking with Dinosaurs Episode 3: Cruel Sea - A breeding event for Ophthalmosaurus, dolphin-like Ichthyosaur reptiles, is the focal point. The sharks Hybodus are a danger to them. A Liopleurodon, a short-necked Pleiosaur, lunges out of the water and eats a giant Eustreptospondylus theropod dinosaur who was fishing. A typhoon kills many Rhamphorhynchus pterasaurs. A seal-like Cryptoclidus plesiosaur is depicted on the shore and entering the water to catch fish. The cephalopod Perisphinctes also make an appearance, as do the bony fish Leptolepis.
~150-148 MYA, Western United States - Reenacted in Jurassic Fight Club Episode 4: Bloodiest Battle - A mud trap ensares many dinosaurs and causes confrontation between them, including a Stegosaurus, Allosaurus, smaller carnosaur Ceratosaurus, and sauropod Camarasaurus.

Kimmeridgian Age (155.7 - 150.8 MYA)[]

152 MYA, Colorodo - Documented in Walking with Dinosaurs Episode 2: Time of the Titans - The episode follows the life of a Diplodocus sauropod dinosaur. They face danger of being eaten by a Ornitholestes and an Allosaurus. A Stegosaurus kills one by swinging its tail. The super large sauropod Brachiosaurus, the insect hunting pterasaur Anurognathus, and the iguanodont Dryosaurus also make an appearance.

Oxfordian Age (161.2 - 155.7 MYA)[]

155 MYA, England - expored in Sea Monsters Episode 3 Third Most Dangerous Sea Ever - Nigel sets out to find the sea reptile Liopleurodon, the largest predator of all time. He finds a school of giant fish (Leedsichthys). One of them lags behind and is attacked by a crocodilian Metriorhynchus and a type of shark Hybodus that was around throughout almost the entire Cenozoic era.

220 MYA, Arizona - Documented in Walking with Dinosaurs Episode 1: New Blood - The narrative follows a Coelophysis, an early skinny two legged dinosaur, as it tries to survive the dry season. It hunts a pack of mammal-like Placerias, the largest herbavoirs of their time. Early pterasaurs Peteinosaurus attempt to keep themselves cool with water. A Postosuchus, the largest predator of its time and related to Crocodiles and dinosaurs, kills one of the Placerias. The Coelophysis tries to hunt a family of mammal-like (and gopher-like) Thrinaxodon cynodont, which live in a whole, and manages to eat some of them. A herd of prosauropod Plateosaurus is seen, ushering in the future.

230 MYA, shores of Switzerland - Explored in Sea Monsters Episode The Sixth Most Deadly Sea of All Time - Nigel comes to see the dangerous Nothosaurus and Cymbospondylus sea lizards. He also points out reptiles are taking over the air (Peteinosaurus, pterosaur) and the land Coelophysid Thoropod dinosaur. He tries to catch a Tanystropheus by the tail, but it breaks off.

248 MYA, Antarctica - Explored by Walking with Monsters Episode 3 Episode 3: Clash of Titans - Diictodon evolves into the larger Lystrosaurus, which multiply into massive heards. The small insectivore Euparkeria is depicted as an ancestor to the dinosaurs. One Lystrosaurus is killed by a poisonous mammal-like Therocephalian reptile as it crosses a ravine. These Lystrosaurus dominate the earth in the recover period, and one is killed by a Chasmatosaurus, an ancestor to Allosaurus.

~251 MYA, Siberia - Documented in Walking with Monsters Episode 3 Part 1 - Giant armored ancestor of the turtles, the Scutosaurus is wounded and eaten by a Gorgonopsid. The rodent-like Diictodon is also present. The ambhibious Labyrinthodontia is in a water hole, which is about to be drunk dry by a herd of Scutosaurus. The Gorgonopsid tries to eat the Diictodon, but they burry underground and won't come out. A Labyrinthodontia also appears.
~251 MYA, Europe - Explored in Primeval Episode 1 - The first found portal opens leading to the late Permian era, filled with volcanos and forests and gliding reptiles, Coelurosauravus and a heard of Scutosaurus, one of each that has crossed into the modern age later named "Rex". A large vegetarian Scutosaurus is found wandering the forest in the present. A carnivorous giant Gorgonopsia (a fictitious large one based on the Gorgonops) attacks a school.

280 MYA - Documented in Walking with Monsters Episode 2: Reptile's Beginning Part 2 - Petrolacosaurus has evolved into the shielded Edaphosaurus. They outgrew their contemporary arthropod. A Dimetrodon hunts the herd. Some Seymouria Reptiliomorpha tries to steel the eggs, but is killed by the male.

Carboniferous Period (359.2 - 299 MYA)[]

Pennsylvanian Epoch (318.1 - 299 MYA)[]

300 MYA, Kansas - Documented in Walking With Monsters Episode 2: Reptiles Beginning Part 1 - Large land arthropod are able to grow because of high oxygen - These include giant Mesothelae spiders (originally a Megarachne, but they then learned that was not a spider, so changed its name in the show to Mesothelae, which never got that large), and a giant Meganeura ("large-nerved") dragonfy. The spider goes after a reptile Petrolacosaurus, but is later struck by lightning. An Arthropleura chases out the spider, but is eaten by a Proterogyrinus ("earlier tadpole") reptilomorph which will be important for the future are in a pond. A dragonfly is eaten by one. Lightning endangers all of the creatures.
300 MYA, Scotland - Explored in Prehistoric Park Episode 5: The Bug House - Nigel goes back to capture a giant centipede, a Arthropleura. He also captures giant dragonflies, Meganeura. He captures and prevents a giant scorpion, Pulmonoscorpius ("breathing scorpion") from attacking a crewman while asleep. Nigel is also bitten in the water by a large crocodile-like amphibian, the Crassigyrinus ("thick tadpole").
~300 MYA - Explored in Primeval Episode 2. A timequake underneath a subway leaks the high oxygen atmosphere of the carboniferous. A multitude of giant spider-like Solifugae infest the area (based on a fossil once thought to be a meter long spider, but then reclassified as a scorpion). Also, a giant centipede Arthropleura (reimagined as larger and venomous to make it scarier) has bitten someone and they need to get an antidote from it.

Devonian Period (416 to 359.2 MYA)[]

360 MYA, Pennsylvania - Documented in Walking With Monsters Episode 1: Water Dwellers Part 3 - Cephalaspis evolves into Hynerpeton, an amphibian-like tetrapod. In water, he is attacked by the Stethacanthus "Ironing Board Shark", but is saved by the predatory lobed fish Hyneria. He mates successfully, but then is eaten by Hynerias.
360 MYA, Shallow reefs - Explored in Sea Monsters Episode 1 The Fifth Most Dangerous Sea of All Time - Nigel travels back to see a giant armored fish, the Dunkleosteus. He uses a smaller armored fish with a jaw, the Bothriolepis, as bait, which also attracts a Stethacanthus "Ironing Board Shark".

Frasnian Age (385.3 - 374.5 MYA)[]

377 MYA (Kellwasser Event) - Documented in Animal Armageddon Episode 2: Hell on Earth - Volcanic activity causes the 2nd mass extinction. The giant armored fish Dunkleosteus ("Dunkle's Bone") and the live birth giving Materpisces ("mother fish") armored fish go extinct. The lobed fish Eusthenopteron, the walking lobe fish Tiktaalik, and amphibian-like seven-digit Ichthyostega ("fish roof") survived. The early rayed lobe fish Cheirolepis ("hand fin") and bottom feeding armored fish Bothriolepis ("pitted scale") also survived.

Silurian Period (443.7 - 416.0 MYA)[]

418 MYA, South Whales Seas - Documented in Walking With Monsters Episode 1 Part 2 - Haikouichthys has evolved into the jawless-fish Cephalaspis ("Head Shield"). It is pursued by the marine scorpion Brontoscorpio ("Thunder Scorpion"), which is itself eaten by a giant sea scorpion, the Pterygotus ("Wing-Animal"). The fish spawn up-stream, but many fall prey to Brontoscorpions, some of the first animals able to go on land. Giant orthocones Cameroceras ("chambered horn") and the land plants Cooksonia are also depicted.
~418 MYA - Explored in Primeval Series 2 Episode 5 - They get trapped in a Silurian or Ordovichian sand desert. Forearm sized centipedes roam the land. Giant sand-burrowing sea scorpions and scorpions attempt to eat them.

444 MYA - Explored by Animal Armageddon Episode 1: Death Rays - Theorizes that the Ordovician-Silurian extinction event was caused by a gamma ray burst, stripping the ozone layer. All featured animals survived this event, including Isotelus trilobites, the first back-boned fish Astraspis, the giant Orthocone Cameroceras (straight nautilid), the Coiled Nautilid, and the sea scorpion Megalograptus (called Eurypterd), and the early jawed fish Acanthodian (sometimes called "spiny sharks", but not true sharks).

Kaitian Age (456 - 446 MYA)[]

450 MYA, Ordovician Seas - Explored in Sea Monsters Episode 1 The 7th Most Dangerous Sea of All Time - Nigel travels back to where the day is only 20 hours long and the air is filled with more CO2 than normal, which requires a mask. Hazards he came to observe include the Cameroceras (a giant Orthocones) and a Megalograptus ("big writing", a giant sea scorpion). He uses a Astraspis ("star shield") fish as bait. He uses a Isotelus trilobite (one of the largest) as bait for the orthocone.

530 MYA, Seas of Chengjiang, China - Documented in Walking With Monsters Episode 1 Part 1 - Domonstating that most animals at this time were blind, a swarm of Jellyfish is shown at the beginning. The several Anomalocaris ("abnormal shrimp") predators are shown feeding on Eoredlichia Trilobites and fighting among themselves. The wounded loser is attacked by a swarm of Haikouichthys, the first vertebrates.
