Neptune is Andi-roid's ever-present Service Bot sidekick. He acts as a link of sorts to many components of the Andi-roid universe. A guardian of sorts, programmed with the will of its creators and represents their interests. After they went extinct, it instead represents Reinhardt's interests. Reinhardt can speak through him when within communications range. When not in range, he can approximately behave as Reinhardt might if he were present. He can also activate dormant machinery with his tail (usually not visible) and give them a voice even if they were originally not programmed to have one. He piloted the Nebulon Voyager before Andi-roid was born and was the one to first detect the infant Sun.
Meta origin[]
Neptune was first included it a drawing of Andi-roid by Lunna. It was inspired by a series of cat-planet drawings available on the internet. Lunna asked me what my favorite planet was, and while I hadn't thought of it much, decided that I probably had the softest spot in my heart for the planet Neptune. As a kid, I watched closely as Voyager 2 beamed back images of Neptune and its moons. This was my first time following a space mission "live", which I would continue to do throughout my life. So, that's the planet she made the cat companion look like.
