Solar System Scratchpad

[Boiler Plate]

A giant crater on Vesta, first observed by Hubble. This impacted Vesta's southern hemisphere, perhaps causing a series of equatorial rifts. The crater only has part of a rim, perhaps due to Vesta's rapid rotation as the material fell back. Possible source of the Vesta class asteroids.
