BD-21°1377 is also called L 668-21 and Gl 229 and informally as Proxima Leporus. It is a red dwarf flare star (has one of the highest diameters) with a T6V brown dwarf orbiting it. It has 25 to 65 times Jupiter's and currently about 40 AU from the star. This was the first sub-stellar mass object discovered, in 1994. The star is the current Spectral Standard star for class M1 V.
